Industrial Engineer – Manufacturing Systems (Mexico)

About the role

As an Industrial Engineer at Aptiv, you will design and implement manufacturing systems for the DCS Mexico plants, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost‑effective production of new automotive products.

Key responsibilities

• Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety and ergonomics standards.
• Develop manufacturing systems that meet quality, capability (CPK, R&R) and takt‑time requirements at the lowest possible cost.
• Design plant layout, engineering operating system, time‑and‑motion studies, Kaizen initiatives, packaging methods, and visual aids.
• Enter and maintain data in SAP, coordinate MSD preparation and MQ1 functionality validation.
• Start‑up and implement manufacturing processes in line with BOP, DFM, MSD, safety, and ergonomics guidelines.
• Meet PPAP deadlines, release new processes/tools, and provide training for engineers and operators.
• Support continuous improvement projects, including cost‑reduction initiatives through ICIM.
• Manage engineering activities according to the Engineering Operating System (EOS).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in industrial engineering or a similar role.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Familiarity with core tools such as PFD, PFMEA, PPAP, and control plans.
• Knowledge of SAP, Lean Manufacturing principles, and AutoCAD.
• Experience interpreting Turtle Diagrams, standardized work, and ergonomics/safety guidelines.
