Junior Body Design & Release Engineer

About the role

ALTEN Mexico is seeking a Junior Body Design & Release Engineer to support the development and production release of body‑in‑white and exterior components for automotive projects. The role involves turning design concepts into volume‑production parts while collaborating with multiple engineering teams and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate packaging and interface with product design, vehicle development, exterior and body engineering, and adjacent departments (electromechanical, electrical, lighting, trim).
• Provide feasibility input for concepts, sketches and clay models from the Product Design Office.
• Drive quality, weight, and cost‑reduction initiatives and report technical status to management.
• Develop functional objectives, DVP&R, DFMEA and manage supplier compliance.
• Release completed geometry using NX and Teamcenter CAD tools.

Required profile

• Experience designing Body‑in‑White, closures or exterior automotive systems.
• Proficiency with Unigraphics NX, CATIA V5 and Teamcenter in a production release environment.
• Knowledge of high‑strength steels, aluminium forming processes, weld parameters and GD&T.
• Familiarity with DFMEA, DVP&R, validation plans and BOM creation.
• Understanding of Design for Six Sigma or Green/Black Belt concepts is a plus.
• Basic CAE/CFD knowledge and strong MS Office skills.
