Junior Warranty Engineer – Field Failure Analysis

About the role

The Quality Management team at ZF in Querétaro is looking for a Junior Warranty Engineer to support field failure analysis of brake products. You will work at the interface of production, engineering and customer service, applying structured problem‑solving methods to drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Level 1 and Level 2 field failure and warranty analyses on returned brake components using 8D, Ishikawa and 5 Whys methodologies.
• Maintain and improve the Warranty Analysis laboratory, related databases and test benches.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams to implement corrective actions and ensure traceability of warranty issues.
• Prepare and deliver technical warranty reports and feedback to customers through direct communication and OEM portals.
• Monitor warranty data, KPIs and cost‑reduction initiatives for management reviews.
• Support compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 within the warranty scope.
• Participate in customer meetings and provide timely responses to reported issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Automotive Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in warranty, quality or customer‑service processes in the automotive industry.
• Strong knowledge of field failure analysis processes, VDA standards and Red X methodology.
• Experience with OEM customer portals (e.g., GM, Ford, STLA, Daimler, Nissan) and GD&T principles.
• Familiarity with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of Power BI.
