Linux Engineer – Remote (Mexico)

About the role

We are seeking a Linux Engineer to join our team on a 12‑month contract (extendable). The role is fully remote from Mexico and focuses on managing, patching, and supporting a large fleet of approximately 900 Linux servers.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, maintain, and upgrade operating systems and software to ensure security and performance.
• Design, develop, and maintain physical infrastructure, network layout, and data‑center architecture.
• Provide architectural frameworks for servers, hardware, peripherals, and network connections following industry best practices.
• Monitor capacity trends and ensure adequate resources for corporate computing needs.
• Deliver technical support, provisioning, and automation for compute resources across public and private cloud environments.
• Oversee system efficiency, stability, and security, responding promptly to outages.
• Prepare and deliver regular status, operational, incident, and change reports.
• Participate in scheduled patching activities, including occasional weekend work.

Required profile

• Strong Linux administration experience with hands‑on server patching using Red Hat Satellite.
• Experience managing both physical and virtual server environments.
• Proficiency with configuration‑management tools such as Ansible (and optionally SCCM).
• Strong scripting skills in PowerShell and Python.
• Experience packaging and deploying software, monitoring performance, security, and capacity.
• Ability to troubleshoot outages and resolve technical issues quickly.
