Operations Finance Specialist

About the role

The Operations Finance Specialist acts as a key financial partner to Vertiv's Operations and Business Units. The role focuses on analyzing manufacturing costs, supporting inventory management, validating cost‑saving initiatives, and providing financial insight for cross‑functional planning.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of the annual operating budget and interim forecasts for Operations.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, including labor, overhead, scrap, rework, and material variances.
• Prepare and explain monthly financial results, highlighting actuals versus budget/forecast.
• Identify cost drivers, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end close activities, including accruals, journal entries, and variance analysis.
• Help prepare, track, and forecast capital expenditure plans and validate ROI analyses.
• Partner with Operations and BU leadership to translate operational activities into financial impact.
• Validate and track cost‑saving programs such as VAVE and productivity initiatives.
• Perform revenue leakage analysis and support margin analysis by product, program, or customer.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• 3–5 years of experience in Operations Finance, FP&A, or Manufacturing Finance.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret operational and financial data.
• Detail‑oriented, proactive, and results‑driven mindset.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle Alice.
