Plant Environmental Engineer

About the role

As a Plant Environmental Control Engineer you will lead technical and regulatory initiatives for environmental media such as air, water, waste, and remediation at a manufacturing site. You will manage the Environmental Operating System (EOS) and ensure ISO 14001 compliance while delivering capital projects on schedule and budget.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical and regulatory support for environmental media, permitting, modeling, testing, and audits.
• Manage the Environmental Operating System and ISO 14001 standards at the site level.
• Track progress and spending on environmental capital and expense projects.
• Develop reports, permit applications, and correspondence for compliance and remediation.
• Utilize environmental software tools (ICSM, I‑Points, Business Objects, SharePoint, E‑tracker, modeling software) to meet site objectives.
• Build and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, internal stakeholders, and community groups.
• Represent Ford’s interests in external environmental matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or equivalent; graduate or master’s degree preferred.
• Strong understanding of national, regional, and local environmental regulations.
• Experience or knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
