Plant Project Manager

About the role

As a Plant Project Manager you will be the single point of contact between the Front Office and the plant, ensuring seamless execution from order opportunity through hand‑off to services. You will keep all stakeholders informed, mitigate risks, and support margin attainment while working on engineered‑to‑order (ETO) products.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate regularly with the Front Office to identify and remove execution barriers while complying with CPP.
• Coordinate meetings with plant stakeholders to track order progress through scheduling, engineering, procurement, kitting, assembly, testing and pack‑out.
• Identify, log, mitigate and track execution and cost risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Work with flow controllers and engineering to resolve long‑lead‑time or missing parts via ship‑shorts, part substitutions and acceptable deviations.
• Review customer change orders, assess schedule and cost impact, and provide input to the pricing team.
• Arrange and coordinate any required witness testing.

Required profile

• Basic understanding of CPP and the order progression through plant gates (scheduling, approvals, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, testing, pack‑out).
• Experience with ETO products and ability to communicate barriers and mitigation plans to the Front Office.
• Proactive identification of execution risks to ensure on‑time delivery.
• Familiarity with core gear components such as circuit breakers, electrical components, bussing and structure; deeper knowledge of electrical and mechanical design is a plus.
• Ability to collaborate with tendering, sales, engineering and manufacturing to standardise BOMs.

Required skills

• Tool knowledge of SEA, AMAPS, SAP, MAPICS, Windchill, Symmetry and BFO.
• Working knowledge of OE, ODM and LDS (preferred).
• External engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical or Mechatronics) and at least 3 years of relevant experience.
