Procurement Leader

About the role

Metso is looking for a Procurement Leader to oversee operational procurement for the Mexico Rubber Plant. Based in Irapuato, Guanajuato, you will manage direct material sourcing and report to the Director of Procurement in Mexico.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute material deliveries in coordination with production schedules to ensure raw material availability.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and payment terms with suppliers and expedite orders as needed.
• Monitor delivery schedules and production plans, identify risks and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare and manage purchase orders, quotations, and price lists, ensuring compliance.
• Track procurement KPIs, drive continuous improvement and cost‑saving initiatives.
• Produce regular procurement reports and collaborate closely with the supply team.
• Support internal stakeholders and management with timely information and solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business and technical procurement, preferably in engineered projects or fabricated and machined products.
• Strategic thinker capable of translating operational needs into supplier development plans.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
• Professional fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• SAP (or similar ERP) proficiency.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (preferred).
