Remote Web Developer for Higher Education Institutions

About the role

We are looking for a Remote Web Developer to create, maintain, and optimise websites and landing pages that support student recruitment and lead generation for North American universities and nonprofit partners. You will work in a fast‑growing performance‑marketing agency, collaborating with SEO, Creative, Paid Media, and Analytics teams to deliver fast, accessible, conversion‑focused web experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain custom WordPress themes, plugins, Gutenberg blocks, and reusable templates.
• Develop landing pages and website experiences aligned with SEO and Paid Media strategies.
• Optimise website performance, accessibility, and Core Web Vitals.
• Implement analytics, conversion tracking, and measurement solutions.
• Conduct QA testing, troubleshoot issues, and provide ongoing maintenance.
• Support A/B testing and CRO initiatives.
• Create scalable systems, workflows, and documentation to improve development efficiency.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Creative, SEO, Paid Media, and Analytics teams.

Required profile

• 4+ years of advanced WordPress development experience.
• Strong front‑end skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience building custom themes, plugins, and reusable components.
• Knowledge of Core Web Vitals, performance optimisation, and accessibility standards.
• Experience implementing analytics and conversion tracking.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and project‑management abilities.
• Background in agency or fast‑paced digital environments.
