RTO Consultant – Mexico City

About the role

AVEVA is seeking an RTO Consultant to join its Mexico City team. You will support feasibility studies, design and implementation of projects that improve margin, customer satisfaction and safety. The role combines technical expertise with customer interaction to deliver high‑quality industrial software solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform feasibility studies and design project implementations aligned with business objectives.
• Provide documentation and training to customer process technicians, operators and maintenance staff.
• Act as the technical interface with customers, ensuring project requirements are fully defined and agreed.
• Validate engineered solutions against functionality, standards, quality and documentation requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during project execution.
• Monitor project scope, control changes, and identify risks and opportunities.
• Review process flow diagrams and P&IDs, update databases, and perform complex data calculations.
• Support pre‑engineering activities by identifying required customer information.
• Assist sales in defining scope, estimating effort, preparing proposals and delivering presentations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of industry experience in process optimization, control or chemical engineering.
• Fluent English, both written and verbal.
• Strong understanding of refining and petrochemical plant operations.
• Ability to work on‑site in Mexico City and travel up to 70 % of the time.

Required skills

• Experience with chemical process simulation tools such as AVEVA Process Optimizer, AVEVA PRO/II, AVEVA Dynamic Simulation, Aspen Plus or Aspen HYSYS.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Basic knowledge of structured programming concepts.
