Senior Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Cyber Security Engineer in the Cyber Defense Center, you will strengthen the organization’s security posture by leading incident response, managing SOAR and SIEM platforms, and protecting both cloud and on‑premises environments.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and continuously improve the KION Cyber Defense Center.
• Handle security incidents, perform client triage and forensic analysis of cyber‑attacks.
• Participate in an on‑call schedule to ensure worldwide security for the KION Group.
• Develop automation playbooks using SOAR tools and write scripts in Java, Python, etc.
• Design and integrate detection methods for Azure, AWS, and GCP environments.
• Analyze security logs to differentiate malicious from benign activity.
• Make independent decisions under pressure and apply information security, risk management, and privacy practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related IT field, preferably with a cyber security focus.
• 3‑5 years of experience in security operations or a cyber defence centre.
• Strong programming ability, especially in Python.
• Deep knowledge of firewalls, EDR, IDS/IPS, SOAR, detection engineering, forensics and threat hunting.
• Familiarity with SOAR playbook development for automated SOC operations.
• Broad understanding of modern IT infrastructure.
