Senior Production Control

About the role

Jabil is looking for a Senior Production Control professional in Guadalajara. The role controls production batches and acts as the interface between planning and inventory control, ensuring the right mix and quantity of finished goods are produced to meet the production plan while avoiding overproduction and improving WIP performance.

Key responsibilities

• Work with Planning and Inventory Control to reduce excess inventory of semi-finished goods and raw materials.
• Lead order processing for major customer units and advise associates on daily priorities.
• Monitor issues affecting committed ship dates, lead times, response times and inventory goals.
• Coordinate with the Master Scheduler on product life cycle and material availability.
• Plan, schedule and approve product releases to production planning systems based on material and capacity availability.
• Supervise production launches, eliminations and engineering changes to meet customer deliverables and avoid obsolescence.
• Support banking and buffering activities during volume changes.
• Act as the link between Master Planner, Inventory Control and Manufacturing, and reschedule production when design changes, shortages or backlogs occur.
• May support inventory control, supply chain management, material planning and scheduling.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5-6 years of materials-related experience (4-6 years stated in the education section).
• APICS certification, Inventory Control and experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate with customers, managers and staff, and to handle problems with several variables.
• Physical demands include standing or walking for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs; the workstation is in the stockroom on the manufacturing floor.

Required skills

• Thorough knowledge of ERP/MRP.
• Advanced PC skills, including knowledge of Jabil's software packages.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspond, and to calculate figures and percentages.
