Senior Project Buyer – Interior Purchasing

About the role

Join Marelli’s Interior team as a Senior Project Buyer and take charge of sourcing and supplier management for new projects. Based in Aguascalientes, you will work closely with engineering, finance and operations to ensure material supply aligns with launch schedules, cost targets and technical specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings and possess basic knowledge of raw materials and production processes.
• Conduct market research, track trends, exchange rates and emerging technologies.
• Estimate costs through comprehensive cost‑structure analysis.
• Request, analyse, compare and negotiate quotations on quality, cost and delivery.
• Select, nominate and develop strategic suppliers for new projects, monitoring performance and managing risks.
• Negotiate and follow‑up commercial contracts, updating costs based on business changes, engineering updates, market fluctuations and exchange‑rate variations.
• Achieve cost‑reduction targets through benchmarking, commercial agreements and supplier audits.
• Identify, analyse and mitigate supply‑chain risks, implementing preventive strategies and contingency plans.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cost analysis, validation and cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Strong negotiation skills for prices, commercial terms and delivery schedules.
• Experience in supplier search, evaluation, selection and development of strategic relationships.
• Knowledge of market trends and ability to manage basic contracts or commercial agreements.
• Project management experience within a purchasing or procurement environment.
