Senior Staff Software Engineer – Backend Systems

About the role

Vistance Networks is looking for a highly skilled Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of backend services for high‑speed broadband delivery platforms. You will work on distributed systems built with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka and related technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure, high‑performance APIs and micro‑services.
• Maintain and enhance existing backend systems, ensuring reliability and optimal performance.
• Analyze business and technical requirements, evaluate technology choices and define architecture trade‑offs.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, mentor junior engineers and help shape engineering culture.
• Document system architecture, design decisions, workarounds and root‑cause analyses.

Required profile

• 8+ years of hands‑on software development experience in Linux‑based distributed environments.
• BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience leading small engineering teams and guiding task execution.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with excellent English communication skills.
