Simulation Engineer

About the role

Magna is seeking a Simulation Engineer to develop static and dynamic simulation models that improve throughput and efficiency across its automotive production plants. The role blends production knowledge, material management, data analysis, and process modeling to support resource planning and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Create and validate discrete‑event and agent‑based simulation models using SIMIO and Siemens tools.
• Analyze production patterns, estimate volumes, and assess Operational Equipment Efficiency (OEE).
• Perform statistical analyses and design of experiments to optimize manufacturing processes.
• Develop material flow and conveyance system models for under‑the‑roof and lineside operations.
• Support assembly process design, layout development, and 2D/3D CAD visualizations.
• Generate reports and dashboards in Excel, VBA, and Python for stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 3‑5 years of experience in manufacturing simulation, production planning, or related analytics.
• Strong command of English (written and spoken).

• Material lineside presentation and under‑the‑roof flow modeling
• Automotive assembly processes and layout design
• 2D CAD (and optional 3D CAD/Spinfire viewers)
• MS Excel, VBA, C#
• MySQL or similar databases
• Python programming
• GD&T concepts (optional)
