Talent Acquisition Specialist I

About the role

JCI (Johnson Controls) is hiring a Talent Acquisition Specialist I to manage end-to-end recruiting for a variety of positions. You will partner closely with hiring managers and HR colleagues to understand role requirements, shape sourcing strategies and deliver a positive candidate experience, while building talent pipelines and supporting hiring decisions with market insight.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, feedback coordination and offer management.
• Partner with hiring managers and business leaders to define role profiles and sourcing approaches.
• Create or refine job descriptions and support hiring plans for each requisition.
• Conduct competency-based screening and coordinate interview panels and debriefs.
• Build and maintain talent pipelines through job boards, professional networks, referrals, social recruiting and industry groups.
• Use platforms such as Naukri, LinkedIn, Indeed and Workday to identify, track and manage talent.
• Engage passive candidates and provide regular updates, dashboards and status reports to stakeholders.
• Support offer approvals and contribute to employer branding, workforce planning and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Communications or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in talent acquisition, corporate recruiting or search firm recruiting, with exposure to full-cycle hiring.
• Experience sourcing and hiring across functions in a fast-paced or matrixed environment.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Nice to have: diversity hiring and recruitment marketing experience, employer branding or campus recruitment exposure, tech/consulting/multinational experience, talent acquisition certification, and vendor management experience.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of ATS platforms and recruitment tools, with practical experience using Workday, LinkedIn Recruiter and job boards.
• Ability to conduct structured interviews, assess candidate fit and communicate hiring recommendations clearly.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple requisitions and priorities with attention to detail.
