Android Developer Trainee (Final-year Students)

About the role

We are seeking highly motivated final‑year engineering students to join our Android team as Trainee Software Engineers. This hybrid position offers hands‑on experience building production‑grade mobile applications in a regulated environment, working alongside experienced engineers across Mexico, the US and Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing and implementing new Android application features.
• Write clean, maintainable code in Java or Kotlin under senior guidance.
• Support debugging, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
• Participate in code reviews and team learning sessions.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, and backend engineers to deliver high‑quality releases.
• Contribute basic unit tests and help improve overall code quality.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Final‑year student eligible for a co‑op, internship or trainee program.
• Strong willingness to learn and adapt in a collaborative, global team.
• Good communication skills and ability to work across time zones.

Required skills

• Foundational understanding of Android development concepts.
• Working knowledge of Java and/or Kotlin.
• Object‑oriented programming principles.
• Basic data structures and problem‑solving techniques.
• Familiarity with Android components such as Activities, Fragments and Jetpack libraries.
• Understanding of REST APIs and client‑server communication.
• Awareness of modern Android practices (MVVM, Jetpack Compose).
• Experience with Git or other version‑control systems.
