Android Developer Trainee (Final‑Year Students)

About the role

Insulet is seeking motivated final‑year engineering students to join its Mobile Applications Center of Excellence as Android Developer Trainees. You will work on real‑world, regulated mobile applications that support the Omnipod® platform, gaining hands‑on experience in a global, production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing and developing new Android application features.
• Write clean, maintainable Java or Kotlin code under senior engineer guidance.
• Support debugging, troubleshooting, and resolution of application issues.
• Participate in code reviews and team learning sessions.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, and backend engineers.
• Contribute basic unit tests and help improve overall code quality.
• Follow development processes that meet quality and regulatory standards.
• Continuously learn modern Android frameworks, tools, and best practices.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Final‑year student eligible for a co‑op/internship/trainee program.
• Foundational understanding of Android development concepts.
• Working knowledge of Java and/or Kotlin and object‑oriented programming principles.
• Familiarity with basic data structures and problem‑solving techniques.
• Exposure to Android development through academic or personal projects.
• Strong willingness to learn, adapt, and collaborate in a global team.

Required skills

• Android development fundamentals.

• Android components such as Activities, Fragments, and Jetpack libraries.
• Basic understanding of REST APIs and client‑server communication.
• Awareness of modern Android practices (MVVM, Jetpack Compose).
