Android Software Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Android Software Engineer to join EPAM’s mobile engineering team. You will build, optimize, and maintain native Android applications using a modern Kotlin‑based tech stack, collaborating closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high‑performance native Android apps with Kotlin.
• Implement responsive UI/UX designs following Material Design guidelines.
• Integrate apps with backend microservices and RESTful/GraphQL APIs.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code and participate in code reviews.
• Create unit and UI tests to ensure application stability.
• Analyze performance to improve speed, battery consumption, and memory usage.
• Support the preparation and release of updates to the Google Play Store.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in native Android development.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and deep knowledge of the Android SDK.
• Understanding of modern architecture patterns such as MVVM, MVI, and Clean Architecture.
• Experience with Dependency Injection (Hilt/Dagger) and Coroutines/Flow.
• Familiarity with Android Studio, Gradle, and Git.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose or XML‑based layouts.
• Proficiency in unit and UI testing using JUnit and Espresso.
• Ability to work in an Agile/Scrum environment using tools like Jira and Confluence.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
