Backend Software Engineer, Airports

About the role

Lyft is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join the Airports team. You will help build reliable, real‑time systems that keep drivers and riders moving smoothly through airport environments.

Key responsibilities

• Drive high‑impact projects and innovate new solutions for airport travel experiences.
• Lead large features from concept through launch, delivering well‑tested, maintainable code.
• Participate in code reviews, on‑call rotations, and incident triage across multiple platforms.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables while communicating trade‑offs clearly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2–5+ years of software engineering or production‑infrastructure experience.
• Ability to work in a low‑ego, highly collaborative, cross‑functional team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with Go.
• Strong object‑oriented programming fundamentals.
• Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.
