Backend Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join our Media & Entertainment team in Guadalajara. The position is hybrid and combines hands‑on development of backend services with design, architecture and mentorship responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services and public APIs using modern frameworks.
• Participate in system architecture discussions and own module‑level designs.
• Build secure, reliable client‑facing and internal APIs in collaboration with the security team.
• Write clean, performant code and ensure comprehensive unit‑test coverage.
• Optimize data storage and access patterns with relational and non‑relational databases.
• Adopt AI‑assisted development tools to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Collaborate with QA, product managers and cross‑functional engineers to deliver features on schedule.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews and contribute to hiring processes.
• Champion best practices in CI/CD, containerization, observability and monitoring.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional experience as a software engineer.
• Strong background in backend service development and API design.
• Hands‑on experience with both relational and non‑relational databases.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, microservices and event‑driven messaging.
• Experience working on cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
