Business Development Manager

About the role

WorldFirst is expanding its international payments platform and is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth in new markets. The role combines business development, sales, market research and market entry activities, working closely with partners and internal teams to launch operations across borders.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and outreach to prospective clients, partners and financial institutions in target markets through cold calls, email and LinkedIn.
• Build and maintain a qualified pipeline, manage opportunities from initial contact through negotiations and contract signing.
• Prepare proposals, presentations and commercial agreements to secure new business.
• Research new markets, assess competition, regulation and demand, and help shape market entry plans.
• Coordinate setup of local entities, licences and registrations required for market entry.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, partners and stakeholders, representing WorldFirst at industry events.
• Track leads and sales activity in the CRM, provide forecasts and regular performance reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in business development, sales, partnerships or market expansion.
• Proven track record of generating leads, managing pipelines and closing deals.
• Strong communication, presentation and negotiation abilities.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills with comfort working across multiple countries.
• Fluent English; Chinese language skills are a plus.

Required skills

• Familiarity with CRM systems and sales reporting.
