Controller – Finance & Accounting Leader

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead the finance function of a stand‑alone business unit in Mexico. The role oversees full P&L and balance‑sheet responsibilities, commercial negotiations, treasury, tax, budgeting and long‑range planning, and presents financial results to senior leadership in English.

Key responsibilities

• Present monthly financial results, forecasts and variance analysis to local and business‑unit stakeholders.
• Lead the monthly earnings call, articulating revenue, operating income and cash‑flow drivers.
• Oversee finance department activities including inventories, AR, AP, treasury, costing, fixed assets and taxes through the Assistant Controller.
• Drive the annual budget and 5‑year business plan, coordinating cost‑center budgets with sales and cash‑flow targets.
• Maintain local accounting system controls, ensure data integrity and manage statutory reporting and electronic billing.
• Sustain SOX ICFR controls, coordinate internal‑control audit remediation and ensure compliance with US GAAP and Mexican statutory principles.
• Lead financial modeling for new business quotations, gathering assumptions and presenting alternative scenarios.

Required profile

• Accounting or Finance degree; Chartered Accountant or MBA is a plus.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, including P&L ownership.
• Proven experience managing a stand‑alone business unit with full financial accountability.
• Strong command of English for clear communication of financial information.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented and capable of managing cross‑functional projects.
