Cost Controller

About the role

Sony is looking for a highly analytical Cost Controller to strengthen its management accounting and cost‑control functions within a U.S. corporate environment. The role focuses on accurate budgeting, forecasting, and expense monitoring to support strategic financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Implement management accounting and cost‑control practices in line with U.S. financial guidelines and corporate standards.
• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Monitor, analyse, and report departmental expenses against approved budgets.
• Identify improvement opportunities and communicate insights to managers and budget owners.
• Collaborate with Accounting, FP&A, and Tax teams to ensure accurate cost recording and policy compliance.
• Prepare and present monthly financial reports for management review.
• Support project planning with financial estimations, cost modelling, and resource allocation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 6–8 years of experience in financial roles, preferably with exposure to U.S. GAAP cost control and budgeting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and business performance drivers.
• Advanced proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
