Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

The Mechanical Design Engineer will lead the design and application of distribution boards and electrical protection systems, ensuring that equipment meets customer specifications. You will support product implementation, provide technical training, and collaborate with sales engineers to drive business development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and application of panelboards, breaker panels, and related electrical protection equipment.
• Validate equipment scope against customer requirements.
• Perform mechanical engineering for production orders and testing.
• Provide product and solution support, including on‑site training for customers.
• Certify technical accuracy of system and process designs.
• Support sales engineers with technical expertise and assist in business development activities.
• Specify, design, analyze, and develop engineering projects from concept to delivery.
• Demonstrate products or solutions to customers.
• Troubleshoot installed systems and lead startup of new systems at customer sites.
• Stay current with engineering developments to guide future product innovation.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in design for manufacturing and engineering release.
• Background in Mechatronics, Mechanical‑Electrical, or related engineering discipline.
• Advanced English communication skills for technical discussions with native speakers.
• Experience designing metal mechanical or electrical components such as panelboards or breaker panels (a plus).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams.
• Knowledge of statistical process control and root‑cause analysis (Green Belt or Lean experience is a plus).
• Familiarity with UL/NEMA certifications (a plus).
