Mechanical Engineer – R&D

About the role

Valeo is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its R&D team. You will support senior engineers in delivering automotive projects, focusing on standard design tasks and ensuring high‑quality technical documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate budget awareness and optimize resource use within assigned projects.
• Assist senior engineers with the execution of engineering projects at Newness Level 1 (standard designs based on existing rules).
• Create and maintain technical documentation such as design specifications and test reports.
• Collect, analyze, and report technical data to support decision‑making.
• Apply established design processes and adhere to the discipline’s digitalization roadmap.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of processes and methodologies.

Required profile

• 0‑2 years of experience in mechanical or automotive engineering.
• Engineering degree with a solid understanding of engineering principles.
• Familiarity with industry standards and best practices.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn and develop technical expertise.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computer‑aided design (CAD) tools.
• Ability to perform data analysis and generate reports.
