Operational Buyer

About the role

The Operational Buyer supports Sandvik Mining’s supply chain by managing day‑to‑day purchasing activities, ensuring parts availability, and monitoring supplier performance for the Guadalajara region.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the operational buying process, including purchase order release, confirmation, fulfillment and administration.
• Maintain ERP parameters within the defined framework.
• Respond to internal service requests such as expediting, price checks and availability inquiries.
• Update price and lead‑time information and handle pre‑advices for supplier deliveries.
• Resolve inbound discrepancies (short shipments, damaged parts, paperwork issues).
• Optimize purchasing processes and costs to guarantee timely delivery of correct parts.
• Maintain inventory settings for items in the supplier base.
• Support working‑capital versus availability optimization and strategic stock management programs.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships, monitor performance and report deviations.
• Escalate under‑performance to category team leads and sourcing organization.
• Participate in special projects, analyses and other assigned duties.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary education or training in business, supply chain or a related discipline (advantageous).
• Minimum six years of experience in a supply‑chain environment.
• Fluent in spoken and written Spanish and English.
• Willingness to travel regionally if required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems for parameter maintenance and order processing.
