Platform Operations Engineer – Database & Infrastructure Operations

About the role

Levi Strauss & Co. is looking for a Platform Operations Engineer to ensure the reliability, performance and health of its enterprise infrastructure platforms in Mexico City. The role combines proactive monitoring, incident response, Oracle database management, Linux system administration and automation within a 24 × 7 follow‑the‑sun support model.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain production environments to guarantee high availability and operational stability.
• Investigate and resolve infrastructure alerts, incidents and service‑degradation events.
• Participate in 24 × 7 operational support and incident‑response processes, performing root‑cause analysis and implementing preventative measures.
• Manage performance and capacity, including high CPU utilization, memory usage, tablespace growth and capacity planning for Linux and Oracle platforms.
• Operate Oracle database environments: monitor alerts, troubleshoot errors, perform health checks and performance tuning.
• Utilise monitoring tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager and develop automated remediation scripts to reduce manual toil.
• Collaborate with global operations, cloud, security and application teams while following ITIL‑based incident, problem and change management.
• Document procedures, share knowledge and support continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience working in a 24 × 7 operational support environment.
• Strong analytical skills for root‑cause analysis and capacity planning.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional global teams.

Required skills

• Oracle Database administration.
• Linux system administration.

• Scripting/automation (e.g., Bash, Python).
