Quality Director

About the role

We are seeking a senior Quality Director to lead the Quality Management System for our automotive seat‑cover and interior component manufacturing operations in Juarez. The role ensures compliance with IATF 16949 and customer‑specific standards, drives continuous improvement, and guarantees product safety across all plants.

Key responsibilities

• Observe, maintain and improve the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in line with automotive standards such as IATF 16949.
• Manage the annual audit plan for internal, customer and third‑party certification audits.
• Lead all quality assurance and control activities for automotive seat‑cover and interior component production.
• Ensure safety‑critical customer requirements are understood and consistently met across plants.
• Promote and monitor new safety‑critical initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA and other quality tools.
• Lead customer quality interface activities, including audits, corrective actions, quality reviews and issue resolution.
• Establish quality objectives, KPIs and performance metrics to enhance operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee supplier quality programs, including audits, qualification and performance improvement.
• Develop and mentor quality teams, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Prepare and present quality performance reports to executive leadership and customers.
• Support new product launches by ensuring compliance with APQP and validation requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading quality functions in automotive manufacturing.
• Deep knowledge of IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP and related industry standards.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, especially in root‑cause analysis.
• Excellent collaboration skills with operations, engineering, supply chain and program management teams.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and coach high‑performing quality teams.
