Restaurant Accountant with QuickBooks Online Expertise

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a detail‑oriented accountant to support restaurant clients using QuickBooks Online. You will work remotely with a collaborative team, handling daily financial records, reconciliations, and cost tracking for hospitality businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, categorize expenses, and manage all financial records in QuickBooks Online.
• Reconcile daily POS sales reports with cash deposits, credit‑card payouts, and third‑party delivery app transactions.
• Process vendor invoices for food, beverage, and supplies, ensuring timely payments and accurate accounts payable.
• Track restaurant‑specific metrics such as food & beverage COGS and labor costs.
• Perform month‑end bank and credit‑card statement reconciliations and generate basic P&L reports for owners/managers.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in the restaurant/hospitality sector.
• Strong, practical experience with QuickBooks Online.
• Familiarity with connecting QBO to restaurant POS systems (e.g., Toast, Clover, Square) is a plus.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
