Senior Accountant – Team Lead

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Senior Accountant to lead our general accounting operations. The successful candidate will manage a high‑performing team, ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, and drive continuous improvement in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing accounting team.
• Oversee general ledger, month‑end and year‑end close processes, and financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Prepare, review and analyze financial statements, budgets and forecasts.
• Maintain internal controls, accounting policies and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to provide financial insights for strategic decisions.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Manage external audit processes and ensure timely completion.
• Utilize advanced Excel functions to analyze data, generate reports and optimise workflows.
• Partner with the VP of Accounting on strategic initiatives and special projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP and strong analytical, problem‑solving and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English and ability to work independently.
• Industry experience in senior housing, real estate, hospitality or healthcare is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas, data analysis).
• Yardi accounting software.
• U.S. GAAP expertise.
