Software Engineer in Test (SDET) – Mobile Web

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our QA team at HCLTech Mexico. You will work on functional and automated testing of mobile web applications for iOS and Android, collaborating with product owners and developers to ensure high‑quality releases.

Key responsibilities

• Perform functional testing of mobile web applications across iOS and Android platforms, validating user flows, UI behavior, and business logic.
• Execute manual test cases for end‑to‑end scenarios, including regression and exploratory testing.
• Review requirements with product owners and developers and define acceptance criteria for new features.
• Identify, document, and track defects in Jira with clear reproduction steps and priority classification.
• Conduct cross‑browser and cross‑device compatibility testing to ensure a consistent user experience.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for mobile web and API testing using WebdriverIO and Appium.
• Build and maintain API test suites with Postman/Newman, validating request/response contracts, authentication, and error handling.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) to enable continuous testing and fast feedback loops.
• Develop reusable test components and page‑object models to improve test maintainability and scalability.
• Analyze test execution results, triage failures, and report test coverage and defect trends.

Required profile

• Experience in functional and manual testing of mobile web applications.
• Ability to work in a multicultural, global team and collaborate closely with developers and product owners.
• Willingness to relocate to Guadalajara, Jalisco if not already based there.
