Staff Software Engineer, AI & Developer Tooling

About the role

Scribd is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the AI‑first transformation of its developer tooling platform. You will define the technical direction for an agentic engineering environment where AI agents collaborate with engineers to write, review, and ship code across the company’s stack.

Key responsibilities

• Set the architectural vision for AI‑assisted development and agentic engineering at Scribd.
• Design patterns, guardrails, and platform services that enable hundreds of engineers to work alongside coding agents.
• Partner with senior leadership to shape the overall agentic engineering strategy.
• Drive improvements in developer productivity, stability, and simplicity across the software development lifecycle.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar beyond the immediate team.
