SWAT Root Cause Engineer – Automotive

About the role

The SWAT Root Cause Engineer will lead first‑level analysis of electrical and electronic issues across Stellantis vehicle, system and component levels. Working primarily in assembly plants, test benches and hardware‑in‑the‑loop setups, the role ensures rapid diagnosis, disposition and corrective action to keep production lines running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily status reviews, lead accountability meetings and update quality team leads and senior management.
• Collect diagnostic data, run test plans and develop test cases for electronic systems.
• Drive issue disposition, generate ICA reports and ensure corrective actions are applied on the assembly line.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, IT and vehicle‑process teams to track solutions through to clean‑point closure.
• Provide technical guidance and lead discussions with both technical and management stakeholders.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in the automotive industry.
• Strong sense of accountability, urgency and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Clear understanding of mechanics, electricity, electronics and thermodynamics at component‑to‑vehicle level.
• Green Belt certification in problem solving.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters and logging devices.
• Automotive DTC troubleshooting.
• Medium to advanced programming abilities.
• Execution of test plans and development of test cases.
• Bench, HIL and VHIL testing experience.
• Familiarity with EOL processes for automotive products.
