About the role

Magna Powertrain is seeking a Tax Accountant to join its finance team in Mexico. The role supports the tax function by preparing workpapers, calculating tax obligations, and ensuring compliance with Mexican tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and update tax workpapers under the supervision of the Tax Specialist or immediate manager.
• Request necessary accounting and administrative information to perform tax calculations.
• Record tax movements in SAP and perform reconciliations.
• Gather and organize documentation required for internal and external audits.
• Report any deviations, inconsistencies, or risks identified in tax calculations or procedures.
• Prepare tax calculations such as VAT, DIOT, withholdings, and basic reconciliations for review.
• Maintain up‑to‑date tax documentation, including workpapers, annexes, and supporting evidence.
• Monitor filing deadlines, alert the team to compliance risks, and support management system activities.

Required profile

• Background in accounting or finance with a focus on tax.
• Ability to work under supervision while taking ownership of assigned tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
• Good communication skills to interact with internal stakeholders.

Required skills

• SAP for tax transaction recording and reconciliation.
