Android Developer – Banking & Mortgage Apps

About the role

Nir Yu is hiring an Android developer in Merida to build and maintain native apps in Kotlin for Android and Huawei devices, focused on banking and mortgage businesses. The role works closely with cross-functional teams (Scrum, product owners, UX/UI).

Key responsibilities

• Create native apps using Kotlin, XML and Jetpack Compose.
• Identify and fix bugs, ensure stability before release and optimise performance (memory and battery usage).
• Keep dependencies, libraries and Android versions up to date.
• Take part in code reviews, technical documentation and Scrum ceremonies.

Required profile

• 5 years of total mobile app development experience.
• 3 years of specific experience developing in Kotlin.

Required skills

• Android Studio, Jetpack Compose and XML, Material Design.
• MVVM architecture (important), Clean Architecture and design patterns such as Singleton.
• Coroutines, background threads/tasks and state management.
• Dependency injection (Dagger2, Hilt or Koin).
• REST services with Retrofit, JSON handling with Gson, SQLite, Realm or ORMLite, SharedPreferences.
• Google Play Services and Firebase.
• Git (GitHub, GitLab or SourceTree), unit tests and agile Scrum.
• Nice to have: FCM, Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, BitBucket, external SDKs/APIs (e.g. Shopify), CI/CD and framework creation.
