Senior Product Manager - Payments

About the role

Belvo, an open finance API platform, is hiring a Senior Product Manager for its Payments product in Mexico. The product gives businesses access to Variable Recurring Payments (VRP) via Account-to-Account rails, enabling direct debit (Domiciliación Bancaria) for recurring payments such as loan repayments, subscriptions and utility bills. The role leads one of the company's most successful product lines and requires both strong technical expertise and an operations-first mindset.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and mentor the operations team, improving efficiency through automation, engineering solutions and data-driven process improvement.
• Collaborate with providers and clients to identify and define new business opportunities.
• Drive new product initiatives from ideation to production: build MVPs, validate hypotheses and scale what works.
• Define a shared vision and strategy, align teams and build a roadmap for the payments ecosystem.
• Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Engineering, Operations, Legal and Finance.
• Analyze user behavior, market dynamics and performance metrics to refine requirements and guide decisions.
• Build lasting client relationships and help internal customer-facing teams succeed.
• Set and track OKRs, keep stakeholders informed and move fast with clear communication.

Required profile

• 5+ years of product management experience, ideally in fintech or payments.
• Experience in a product team within the Mexican payments ecosystem.
• Founded or early employee at a startup, or built products or businesses from 0 to 1.
• Strong technical foundation: able to prototype or code MVPs and work with engineers.
• Data-obsessed: extracts, analyzes and visualizes data, creates dashboards.
• Proven execution, stakeholder management and leadership of teams.
• Comfortable using AI tools; a background as a software engineer or data scientist is a plus.
