Assembly Process Engineer - Seating

About the role

ALTEN MÉXICO, a subsidiary of the ALTEN Group, is looking for an experienced Assembly Process Engineer with expertise in seating to join its team in Saltillo. The role focuses on the industrialization and optimization of assembly processes for seating systems in automotive or similar industries.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the industrialization of assembly processes for seating systems, taking into account customer requirements, quality standards and cost objectives.
• Collaborate with design engineers, manufacturing engineers and suppliers to develop efficient assembly methods and fixtures.
• Perform capacity analysis to determine production capacity and optimize process efficiency.
• Launch seating assembly lines.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve quality and productivity.
• Conduct FMEA to identify and mitigate risks and quality issues in assembly processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in assembly engineering, preferably in seating systems for automotive or similar industries.
• Strong knowledge of seating assembly processes, including tools, fixtures and equipment.
• Experience analyzing product designs for ease of assembly and manufacturability.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, good communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams; strong English level required.

Required skills

• Proficiency in capacity analysis and optimization.
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
• Experience with FMEA is preferred.
• CAD software such as CATIA or SolidWorks is a plus.
• Knowledge of automotive industry standards and regulations related to seating is desirable.
