Assistant Laundry Manager

About the role

The Assistant Laundry Manager supports the Laundry Master in overseeing the shipboard laundry operations. This position ensures that all linen, uniforms, and guest textiles are processed efficiently, meet quality standards, and are delivered on time to support housekeeping, food & beverage, and crew services.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily laundry operations and lead the laundry crew.
• Coordinate with the Laundry Master, Executive Housekeeper, and Facilities Manager to maintain equipment and schedule preventative maintenance.
• Ensure proper sorting of linen by color and removal of debris before processing.
• Inspect dryers and other equipment daily for lint buildup and correct temperature settings.
• Monitor and adjust washing formulas and cycles for different types of linen and soil levels.
• Prepare and submit daily inspection reports to the Executive Housekeeper and First Engineer.
• Resolve guest and crew concerns related to laundry services in line with onboard guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized work environment.

Required profile

• Minimum two years experience as an Assistant Laundry Master or equivalent in a 4‑ or 5‑star hotel, cruise ship, or upscale hospitality setting.
• Strong technical proficiency with laundry equipment and supplies.
• Proven ability to lead, manage, and direct a crew.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and sound judgment for operational issues.
