Bar Manager

About the role

The Bar Manager is responsible for delivering a high‑quality, efficient beverage service that enhances the guest experience while complying with all licensing regulations. This role oversees the bar operation, staff training, and ensures service standards are consistently met.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain an effective bar service with emphasis on quality and efficiency.
• Set, implement, monitor and continuously evaluate guest service standards.
• Prepare the outlet according to predetermined operational standards.
• Ensure compliance with licensing regulations and hotel procedures, and conduct related staff training.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of all beverages, their preparation and presentation, and train staff accordingly.
• Enforce health, safety and fire regulations and ensure team members understand and apply them.
• Maintain impeccable uniform standards for all team members.
• Evaluate team performance, conduct appraisals and provide development plans using Hilton University and the hotel training calendar.
• Manage staff absences, follow attendance procedures and apply disciplinary policies when necessary.
• Delegate responsibilities appropriately and maintain administration for all staff.
• Produce revenue forecasts, communicate them to the Food & Beverage office and work to maximise revenue through upselling and high service standards.
• Collaborate with Food & Beverage Cost Control to conduct timely stock takes and meet profit margin targets.

Required profile

• Proven customer service experience in a supervisory or managerial role within hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of beverage service and licensing regulations.
• Ability to train, develop and motivate a team.
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
