Body Design & Release Engineer (Junior)

About the role

ALTEN Mexico is seeking a Junior Body Design & Release Engineer to join the Closures division. You will be responsible for designing, developing and releasing structural and mechanical components for removable vehicle tops, ensuring they meet quality, safety, functionality and cost targets.

Key responsibilities

• Interface with product design, vehicle development, exterior and body engineering teams, and suppliers to develop and release components.
• Provide feasibility feedback on concepts, sketches and clay models from the Product Design Office.
• Lead quality, weight‑reduction and cost‑reduction initiatives and communicate technical status to management.
• Create and manage DVP&R, DFMEA and validation plans.
• Release final geometry using NX and Teamcenter CAD tools.

Required profile

• Experience with Body in White, closures, hard tops, soft tops, door glass, door modules or tonneau covers.
• Knowledge of high‑strength steel and aluminum forming, weld parameters and GD&T.
• Familiarity with DFMEA, DVP&R, BOM creation and Design for Six Sigma (Six Sigma Green/Black Belt is a plus).
• Understanding of CAE/CFD concepts.
