Buyer Direct – Procurement Specialist

About the role

Flex is seeking a Buyer Direct to support the procurement of direct materials, components, and equipment for its manufacturing operations. Based in Guadalajara, this position works closely with the Purchasing Manager Direct to ensure timely and cost‑effective supply of critical items.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate price, delivery, and quality terms.
• Place orders for raw materials and purchased parts according to production requirements.
• Track shipments, follow up on delays, and coordinate with freight forwarders and warehouses.
• Monitor inventory levels, prevent overstock, and reduce obsolescence risk through regular stock checks.
• Handle purchase order modifications based on production plan changes, shortage lists, and open PO lists.
• Resolve claims, debit/credit issues, and approve invoices for payment.
• Conduct quarterly supplier reviews and maintain procurement records, reports, and metrics.
• Ensure compliance with purchasing data‑privacy policies.

Required profile

• Experience in direct material purchasing or supply‑chain procurement within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical skills to review requisitions, MRP output, and inventory reports.
• Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, logistics partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Detail‑oriented approach to documentation, invoice approval, and discrepancy resolution.
