Buyer I – Procurement Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Buyer I to support the procurement of materials, components and services for our manufacturing operations. The role will ensure timely, cost-effective sourcing while maintaining Jabil’s quality and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Create and process purchase orders for assigned commodities following established policies.
• Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to achieve favorable outcomes.
• Monitor supplier performance on delivery, quality and cost, escalating issues when needed.
• Collaborate with engineering, production and logistics teams to understand material requirements and resolve supply-chain challenges.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and keep supplier data up-to-date in the ERP system.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities and suggest process improvements.
• Support new product introduction by ensuring material availability.
• Participate in supplier qualification and evaluation activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• 0–2 years of procurement or supply-chain experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation, communication and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced team.
