Buyer

About the role

Rockwell Automation is hiring a Buyer in Monterrey. You will manage the cost-effective purchase of components supporting main corporate functions such as Marketing, Sales, HR, IT and Finance, as well as key customer contracts and services like repair, remanufacturing, field labor and projects. You will also develop new supply sources when vendors and suppliers are inadequate.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate existing and potential suppliers using Total Cost of Ownership principles and secure timely acquisitions from known sources.
• Represent the company ethically with suppliers: meetings and presentations, selecting sources, communicating specifications and pricing, setting delivery commitments, resolving quality problems, and handling disputed legal and financial issues.
• Develop goals for the Purchasing department and personal growth goals, and report progress to the purchasing supervisor.
• Edit and process purchase requisitions, clarify specifications, and use SAP and other enterprise systems to issue purchase orders and collect and analyze data.
• Coordinate with Engineering, IT, Marketing, Regional Service Delivery, Customer Care and Finance/Accounting to maximize customer service.
• Support coordinated purchase agreements with the Strategic Sourcing organization, help improve computer systems for productivity and reporting, and follow health, safety, quality and environmental regulations (ISO 9001, ISO 14000).

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Materials Management, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or a related technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of directly related experience.
• Purchasing experience in a manufacturing or services environment is helpful.
• Preferred: exposure to contract negotiation, conflict resolution and negotiation skills, demonstrated project management skills, and experience under high-risk situations.

Required skills

• SAP experience is preferred.
• Use of SAP and other enterprise systems to issue purchase orders and analyze data.
