Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

Johnson Controls is seeking a proactive Buyer to support its Building Technologies & Solutions (BT&S) field organization across the United States and Canada. Working under direct supervision, you will help secure competitive pricing and timely delivery of materials required for installation and service projects.

Key responsibilities

• Process direct material requests from the BT&S field organization and Regional Procurement Managers.
• Post requests to an online bid system, solicit quotes from multiple suppliers, and conduct best‑cost analyses.
• Log all sourcing activity in the online reporting system and track open and completed requests.
• Negotiate with vendors to obtain optimal pricing, especially for high‑value projects.
• Research alternate suppliers when primary sources are back‑ordered or pricing is unfavorable.
• Coordinate price checks, order expedites, and provide status updates to requestors.
• Maintain continuous communication with the Procurement Solutions Center manager in the US.
• Perform other related tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum Associate’s Degree; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Previous industry experience is a plus.
• Strong customer service and communication abilities.
• Ability to communicate in French is a plus.
• Highly organized, deadline‑driven, and persistent in vendor follow‑up.
• Effective communication with US‑based team members.
