Compliance Tax Specialist

About the role

The Compliance Tax Specialist will ensure accurate preparation and filing of tax forms for Colgate-Palmolive in Mexico. This position focuses on local tax compliance, income tax, anti‑money‑laundering reporting, and e‑invoicing advisory, helping the company meet regulatory obligations and mitigate risk.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare tax calculations, estimates and provisions for Income Tax and VAT, and ensure timely filing of federal, state and municipal obligations.
• Maintain tax balances on the general ledger for direct, indirect and withholding taxes, applying US GAAP and Mexican accounting standards.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors as required.
• Ensure strict compliance with anti‑money‑laundering reporting and related regulations.
• Act as the internal expert on e‑invoicing (CFDIs), advising business units and guaranteeing adherence to local invoicing laws.
• Support tax audit responses, tax planning initiatives and provide tax advice to various functions.
• Monitor legislative changes and industry trends, implementing impacts on tax liabilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Public Accounting.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in tax compliance or in‑house tax counsel.
• In‑depth knowledge of Mexican tax laws, international tax principles and US GAAP.
• Advanced English proficiency.
