Comprador Directos – Purchasing Specialist

About the role

The Direct Purchaser will be responsible for sourcing and buying direct‑material components for Magna’s automotive exterior systems. The position requires close collaboration with engineering, production and quality teams to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency and compliance with automotive standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage procurement of direct materials used in lift‑gates, exterior trim, modular systems and other lightweight components.
• Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve best price and service levels.
• Perform financial analysis and cost‑benefit assessments for purchasing decisions.
• Plan and monitor purchase orders, ensuring alignment with production schedules.
• Guarantee compliance with IATF 16949, PPAP and APQP requirements.

Required profile

• University degree in Industrial Engineering, International Trade, Business Administration or related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in direct‑material purchasing within the automotive industry.
• Advanced English (spoken and written).
• Strong negotiation, analytical and results‑oriented mindset.

Required skills

• SAP ERP system.
• Oracle ERP system.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949, PPAP and APQP automotive standards.
