Continuous Improvement Engineer

About the role

The Continuous Improvement Engineer will act as a consultant and coach, applying lean manufacturing principles to drive strategic alignment across Daimler Truck’s business units in Mexico. The role supports the creation and execution of road‑maps, oversees continuous improvement (CI) projects and helps embed a sustainable culture of lean practices throughout the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Support business units in developing and following up on strategic plans, including KPI monitoring.
• Facilitate weekly strategy meetings to review road‑maps, KPIs and action plans.
• Lead or assist CI projects aimed at improving operational performance and achieving plant‑strategy targets.
• Document project progress, maintain road‑map visibility and ensure alignment with the Smart Vision objectives.
• Coach teams on lean tools and methodologies to foster continuous improvement mind‑set.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing CI tools and methodologies.
• Background in manufacturing process engineering, preferably in truck or automotive production.
• Experience with the Truck Manufacturing System (TOS) or similar production systems.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
• Effective communication, influence, strategic thinking, analytical problem‑solving, decision‑making and conflict‑management skills.
