Continuous Improvement & Launch Engineer

About the role
We are looking for a highly driven Continuous Improvement & Launch Engineer to lead the start‑up of our new automotive manufacturing facility. You will shape the production system, embed a Lean culture, and ensure safety and operational excellence ahead of the Start of Production in 2027.
Key responsibilities
- Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and Operational Excellence systems across the plant.
- Develop and deploy manufacturing standards, visual management, standard work, and continuous improvement processes.
- Support manufacturing readiness activities and ensure a successful SOP.
- Design line‑balancing strategies, conduct cycle‑time analysis, capacity planning, and drive productivity projects.
- Assist MES implementation, performance reporting, and data‑driven decision making.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Logistics, and EHS teams to optimise plant performance.
- Train and coach supervisors, team leaders, and operators in Lean and problem‑solving methods.
- Support robotic welding and automated manufacturing process optimisation.
- Develop a world‑class safety culture, conduct risk assessments, ergonomic evaluations, safety audits, and incident investigations.
- Implement and improve ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics or related engineering field.
- Minimum 5 years experience in automotive manufacturing, preferably Tier 1.
- Proven experience in plant launch, capacity expansion, new line launch or Greenfield/Brownfield projects.
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
- Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams in Mexico and the United States.
