Controls Design Engineer Analyst

About the role

We are seeking Mechatronics or Controls Engineers to join our team and contribute to the design and implementation of material handling automation systems. The role involves both hardware and software design activities following established guidelines and policies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop electrical hardware designs for semi‑complex conveyor systems, selecting components such as photoeyes, I/O blocks, beacon lights, control stations, gateways and VFDs.
• Create electrical layouts and schematic drawings using CAD tools and perform calculations (FLA, power drop, cable length) to ensure compliance with Dematic and industrial standards.
• Design and configure industrial networks (Ethernet, ProfiBus/ProfiNet, AS‑i, DCAN) and program conveyor control software using AB Logix Designer, Siemens TIA Portal/Step 7.
• Configure VFD parameters, create Embedded Conveyor Controller (ECC) configuration files, and develop conveyor system emulation models for testing.
• Document technical findings, produce design specifications, test specifications and standard work packages, and share knowledge with less‑experienced engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering or a related electrical design field.
• Advanced English communication skills (written and oral).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in automation engineering, including selection of electrical automation components and creation of electrical drawings.
• At least 2 years of experience with PLC software development or code debugging (Siemens, ABB, BECoff).
• Desirable: 1 year of experience on material handling automation projects.
